Fascinated by the Charolais race and the bovine genetics, we joined  our forces in 1996 to create the SCEA RIOTTE-SCHRAPFER farm

 

Some important investments allowed us to reach the genetics of the the best breedings (MANIERE, DESSAUNY, GROLLEAU…) and so to acquire the founding bulls of their lineages:

 

- VOYAGEUR – son of PICADOR (DESSAUNY)

- CANBERRA – son of SYDNEY (DESSAUNY)

- HIDALGO – son of d’ETOILE (VOISIN)

- JAPON – son of DOROTHEE (RAYMOND)

- PADIRAC – son of d’IMPERIALE (BOUTET)

In 1997, we developed a narrow partnership with the breeding of Dr Esmor Evans in Maerdy Heard (Wales). His breeding is hightly renowned in the United Kingdom and all around the globe.

Today, our breeding count more than 150 cows living on 260 hectares, and we work to improve the herd's performances : 

- We select our breeder according to the following criteria :

• Maternal Qualities : Ease of calving, fertility, good dairy production

• Meals qualities : Delicacy of the seed of meat, length and thickness of the back

• Capacities for the extensive breeding : Transformation of food, walk measure, rusticity.

- We develop a herd of pulled animals with nearly the same qualities as the traditional Charolais Cows (D’ANGELY, pulled bulls,Avallon and Semur 1st prize in 2009).
